Is CBG safe?

The honest summary of CBG safety is ‘not studied’ rather than ‘proven safe’. CBG Atlas records no primary evidence in pregnancy, breastfeeding, children, long-term use, or alongside prescription medicines. Published single-dose oral work in healthy adults describes acute tolerability, not chronic safety. In published pharmacokinetic work a high-fat meal raised CBG exposure, which is a dosing consideration rather than a benefit. WADA’s in-competition cannabinoid ban exempts CBD, not CBG.

Origin

These points come from CBG Atlas’s safety notes; Atlas holds editorial independence. Peregrine is a wholesale supplier, not a poison-control line. Adverse events should be reported to the manufacturer of the finished product and the national regulator, with the batch number.

Established

  • Pregnancy, paediatrics, chronic human use and CYP interactions in people are all ‘catalogue in progress’, with no primary evidence.
  • Published single-dose oral tolerability in healthy adults, which does not establish chronic safety.
  • WADA’s in-competition cannabinoid ban exempts CBD but not CBG; Atlas also notes CBDV.

Not yet

  • A human characterisation of α2 / blood-pressure effects.
  • Any basis for combining CBG with antihypertensives without medical advice.

Questions

Can athletes use CBG isolate?

Check the current WADA list with counsel before assuming anything. CBD is the named exception in that class, and CBG is not CBD.

Does food change CBG levels?

Published pharmacokinetic work found that a high-fat meal increased CBG exposure compared with a low-fat one. That is a literature observation, not a dosing instruction from Peregrine.

Evidence language follows CBG Atlas (Peregrine-funded; editorial independence). Not medical advice. Not a disease claim.
