CBC vs CBL?
CBC is a plant cannabinoid made from CBGa by CBCa synthase. CBL is its photochemical rearrangement product: light cyclises CBC into cannabicyclol. They are isomers — identical formula C21H30O2 and mass, different ring structure — so they are distinguished by chromatography and structural identity, not by mass.

Is CBL a degradation product?
Yes — of CBC, under light. Its appearance on a CBC COA over time is a stability signal.
Why can't LC-MS alone distinguish CBC from CBL?
They have the same mass. Retention time against a reference, or structural identity by NMR, separates them.
Why does CBC ship as an oil sometimes?
It has a low melting point and crystallises reluctantly; a ≥99.9% lot may be a viscous fraction or a solid.
