What is cannabinoid decarboxylation?

Decarboxylation is the loss of CO₂ from a cannabinoid acid to give the neutral cannabinoid: CBGa → CBG, CBDA → CBD, THCVA → THCV, CBCA → CBC. The plant makes the acids; process heat, and more slowly light and time, make the neutrals. Because a heated step converts one to the other, specify which species you need at the end of your process, not just at the start.

Origin

Laboratory decarboxylation of CBGA is typically quoted at around 110–130 °C. That is a literature range, not a Peregrine SOP or guarantee. Keep acids in a cold chain after receipt.
