CBN isolate vs water-dispersible CBN powder?
CBN isolate is the molecule: ≥99.9% cannabinol as a crystalline solid, soluble in lipids and ethanol, practically insoluble in water. Water-dispersible CBN powder (CBN-WD) is that molecule pre-dispersed onto a food-grade carrier and spray-dried so it disperses in water; its assay is CBN-in-powder, typically 10–20% w/w. Choose by the phase your process has: oil or ethanol → isolate; water → powder.

The powder is made from isolate. Nothing about the CBN changes; what changes is the form, the carrier, the assay language and the storage sensitivity.

Questions
Can I swap CBN isolate for water-dispersible powder in a formula?
Only after recalculating from the powder's w/w assay. At 15% w/w, 1 g of powder carries 150 mg CBN; 1 g of isolate carries ~999 mg.
Is 'water-soluble CBN' the same as water-dispersible?
Vendors use both words. Cannabinoids are practically insoluble in water; the physics is dispersion on a carrier. Peregrine uses the accurate word.
Which is cheaper per milligram of CBN?
Usually the isolate, because the powder adds carrier and a spray-drying step. The powder saves process cost where the line is water-based.
What carrier is in CBN-WD?
Disclosed on the current lot's technical sheet. Request it with the COA before formulating.
