Bulk CBT isolate: what it is and how to buy it
CBT isolate is cannabitriol (C21H30O4), a triol cannabinoid from the oxidised end of cannabinoid space, offered by Peregrine at ≥99.9% as a research isolate for reference collections and exploratory formulation. What exactly is "CBT" — cannabitriol or cannabicitran?
Both are sold under the abbreviation CBT by different vendors, and they are different molecules. Peregrine's SKU is cannabitriol, a triol (three hydroxyl groups, C21H30O4). Cannabicitran (sometimes CBT-C) is a different, bicyclic compound. Confirm which one your specification names before ordering from anyone, and read the formula on the COA.
Why is identity handled differently for CBT?
Primary reference standards for cannabitriol are scarce and periodically on allocation. When Peregrine cannot run HPLC identity against a qualified standard, NMR or LC-MS identity is used and the substitution is disclosed on the COA rather than implied. Assay is still reported as percent w/w.
What should a COA for CBT isolate show?
Identity and assay for the named cannabinoid, at minimum. Identity is HPLC against a qualified reference standard; when a primary standard is on allocation, Peregrine discloses NMR or LC-MS identity on the COA rather than implying HPLC. Assay is reported as percent w/w of CBT, and a lot is listed as Available only after both clear.
