Can I buy CBGV as an API today?
No. The term describes the active ingredient of a drug product, and the obligations that come with it: ICH Q7 manufacture, ICH Q3A impurity qualification, ICH Q1A stability, and usually a Drug Master File. There is no drug programme with CBGV as its active, so there is nothing for those obligations to attach to.
Supply is the harder constraint here anyway. Varin cannabinoids occur at low abundance in almost all hemp chemovars, which is why CBGV runs in campaigns rather than sitting in a drum.
Where do I buy a CBGV standard?
The same place as any other certified cannabinoid: a reference-material producer. ISO 17034 is the accreditation for making one. ISO/IEC 17025 is for the laboratory that runs a method against it.
Cayman, Supelco and LGC list the varins. Quantities are small, and the price reflects characterisation rather than material.
No compendial standard exists for CBGV in either the USP or the European Pharmacopoeia.
What does GMP CBGV actually mean?
Which GMP is the whole question. ICH Q7 covers active pharmaceutical ingredients, 21 CFR 210/211 covers finished drug products, 21 CFR 111 covers dietary supplements and ISO 22716 covers cosmetics. For a low-abundance research isolate, a GMP claim of any kind is worth a hard look at what was audited and by whom.
What does pharma grade CBGV mean?
Not a defined term, and with no monograph for CBGV there is nothing for it to point at. The specification is the real answer: identity method, assay basis, impurity list, storage.

Where do I buy CBGV API?
You cannot, and for CBGV the scarcity is upstream of the regulatory question. The varin line starts from CBGVa rather than CBGa, the plant makes very little of it, and extraction from biomass is not a route to volume at any grade. That is the reason there is no API and no compendial standard — not oversight, but supply.
Synthesis changes that arithmetic, which is the point of the platform. A route that does not depend on how much CBGVa a plant happened to make is the only way this compound reaches industrial volume at any grade.
Is bulk CBGV API available at all?
Bulk CBGV is campaign-based rather than stocked: 5 g opens first, larger tiers open when a campaign is scheduled and the lot is released. That is an honest description of a scarce compound, not a negotiating position.
If you need a kilogram of CBGV on a date, say the date. Campaigns are planned around real demand, and a buyer who tells us what they need six months out is a buyer we can plan a run for.
How do I get a sample CBGV API quantity?
Request the 5 g research cut. For CBGV that cut is often the whole project — a receptor screen or an analytical method development run rarely needs more, and nobody should buy a kilogram of a compound with no published human pharmacology.
The certificate names the assay and the identity method. If you are building an analytical method and need the propyl analogue resolved from its pentyl cousin, ask for the chromatography conditions used at release.
Who manufactures CBGV API?
Very few people manufacture CBGV at all, which makes this the compound where the supplier question is most worth asking and easiest to answer. Search it and the results split cleanly: research catalogues selling milligrams for assay work, and trading listings offering bulk that is usually someone else's campaign.
