CBGV (cannabigerovarin) is the propyl homolog of CBG: the same geranyl core with a three-carbon side chain instead of five. Its acid, CBGVA, is the varin analog of CBGa, and decarboxylation yields neutral CBGV. Formula C19H28O2, CAS 55824-11-8. Very little compound-specific pharmacology has been published.

How we sell

  1. 01

    Inquire

Tell us the compound, the mass, and the destination, and give us a work email. We don’t publish prices because they depend on the lot.

  2. 02

    Quote

A person replies within one business day with the available lot, lead time, and price.

  3. 03

    PO

You confirm the mass and destination on a purchase order. There is no consumer checkout.

  4. 04

    Lot + COA

The pack ships with the COA covering identity and assay if you asked for it. An SDS is available on request.

Buying guide

Bulk CBGV isolate: what it is and how to buy it

CBGV isolate is cannabigerovarin (CAS 55824-11-8, C19H28O2), the propyl analogue of CBG and the neutral form of CBGVa — the acid that starts the varin branch of cannabinoid biosynthesis the way CBGa starts the pentyl branch. Peregrine offers it at ≥99.9% as a research isolate for labs mapping propyl-cannabinoid space. Expect longer lead times than CBG: the 5 g research pack is the first tier to open, and kilogram tiers require a written campaign. A per-lot COA ships with the material.

Where does CBGV sit in cannabinoid biosynthesis?

The plant builds CBGVa from divarinolic acid and geranyl pyrophosphate, in parallel with CBGa from olivetolic acid. The same three synthases then convert CBGVa into THCVa, CBDVa and CBCVa. CBGV is CBGVa after decarboxylation — the varin-series counterpart of the mother cannabinoid.

Who buys CBGV isolate?

Analytical labs building propyl-cannabinoid reference libraries, method developers who need to resolve CBGV from CBG, and research groups mapping structure across the varin series. It is sold strictly as a research isolate; Peregrine describes no consumer uses.

Why are CBGV lead times longer than CBG?

Varin cannabinoids are low-abundance in almost all hemp chemovars, so CBGV is produced in small campaigns. The 5 g research pack is the first tier to open; kilogram tiers open only against a written campaign.

What should a COA for CBGV isolate show?

Identity and assay for the named cannabinoid, at minimum. Identity is HPLC against a qualified reference standard; when a primary standard is on allocation, Peregrine discloses NMR or LC-MS identity on the COA rather than implying HPLC. Assay is reported as percent w/w of CBGV, and a lot is listed as Available only after both clear.

Residual-solvent (ICH Q3C classes as applicable to the process), heavy-metal and pesticide panels ship with the lot pack when you request them on the inquiry. Appearance, water activity, storage condition and origin are lot-specific and printed on the COA, not on this page. Ask that the method demonstrably resolves CBGV from CBG.

How do you buy bulk CBGV isolate from Peregrine?

Pick a mass on this page, add the destination jurisdiction, and send the inquiry. A person answers with a quote in one business day. Today every CBGV isolate mass tier is Coming Soon: production is campaign-based and a tier opens only after the lot clears identity and assay. Send the inquiry anyway — it is how you are told when the campaign is scheduled, and the 5 g research cut is the first tier to open. Kilogram tiers require a written campaign.

Every mass tier shows one of three states: Available (identity and assay have cleared), Contact for pricing (a human quotes the campaign), or Coming Soon (we cannot take the order until the lot exists). Incoterms, carrier and pickup window are on the quote. For multi-product requests use the procurement form on /quote.

Questions about CBGV

What is CBGV?

Cannabigerovarin, the propyl analogue of CBG (C19H28O2, CAS 55824-11-8) and the neutral form of CBGVa, the varin-series precursor.

Is CBGV the same as CBG?

No. CBGV has a three-carbon side chain; CBG has five. Different formula, different retention, different molecule.

What purity is CBGV isolate?

≥99.9% cannabigerovarin on the lot COA.

Can I order CBGV in kilograms?

Only against a written campaign. The 5 g research pack is the first tier to open.

Does anyone else sell CBGV isolate?

Few suppliers list it. Peregrine specifies it with CAS, formula and a per-lot COA like every other isolate we sell.

CBGV vs CBG?

CBGV has a shorter side chain, and that is enough to change receptor behaviour. Do not carry CBG receptor language over to CBGV.
