CBDA (cannabidiolic acid) is the carboxylated form of CBD, formula C22H30O4, CAS 1244-58-2. CBDA synthase makes it from CBGA in the plant, and heat removes CO₂ to give CBD. Formulators buy it when they need the acid rather than the neutral, and store it cold because it decarboxylates on a warm shelf.

Buying guide
Bulk CBDA isolate is cannabidiolic acid (CAS 1244-58-2, C22H30O4), the carboxylated species the plant makes before it becomes CBD, at ≥99.9%. Peregrine supplies it as an acidic isolate for laboratories and process chemists who need the acid rather than decarboxylated CBD. It is heat- and light-sensitive and is handled cold-chain-preferred: store at 2–8 °C after receipt. Masses run from 5 g to 100 kg with a per-lot COA; quotes return in one business day.
CBDA is a different molecule with different solubility, stability and analytical behaviour. Labs buy it as a reference and impurity marker; process developers buy it to study or control decarboxylation; formulators buy it when the brief specifies the acid form or a raw-hemp profile. If the specification says cannabidiol, buy CBD isolate instead.
By keeping heat out of the process: cold extraction, chromatography and crystallisation without a decarboxylation step. Any residual heat, light or time converts some CBDA to CBD, so the CBD line on a CBDA COA is a handling record as much as a purity result.
Identity and assay for the named cannabinoid, at minimum. Identity is HPLC against a qualified reference standard; when a primary standard is on allocation, Peregrine discloses NMR or LC-MS identity on the COA rather than implying HPLC. Assay is reported as percent w/w of CBDA, and a lot is listed as Available only after both clear.
Residual-solvent (ICH Q3C classes as applicable to the process), heavy-metal and pesticide panels ship with the lot pack when you request them on the inquiry. Appearance, water activity, storage condition and origin are lot-specific and printed on the COA, not on this page. The CBD value on the same COA shows how much decarboxylation has already occurred.
2–8 °C after receipt, closed, dry and dark. Let the container warm to room temperature before opening to avoid condensation. Sub-divide into working aliquots for long campaigns so the bulk container is opened as rarely as possible.
